Extreme Pool Cleaning - Drain & Wash in Gilbert, Arizona

When a pool has been green for a long time - more than 6 months - the interior is coated with a green algae slime that is often crusted onto the pool interior. To remove it, you can complete a pressure wash, acid wash, or chlorine bath. In most cases, an initial pressure wash removes most of the algae slime. I'm posting photos of a recent job showing an interior pressure wash and the results.

Pool is drained... and stained.

The spa is pretty dirty too!

Beginning to pressure wash.

And more washing...

And still more pressure washing...inch by inch. This job took us about three hours.

Finally clean!

Crystal clear again!

Green Pool - Pool Drain in San Tan Valley, Arizona

As you've probably surmised by our recent posts, we clean out a lot of green pools! This job included a drain and interior pressure wash. No pictures of the pool prior to the drain, but it was in pretty bad shape... This was a one man job so no action shots.

Halfway done - steps and one side have been washed down.

Almost done and we're starting to refill the pool.

Green Pool Clean Up

We're often called to complete "Green Pool Clean Ups" There are several different methods for turning a green pool clear again. You can drain a pool and muck out the algae before refilling or you can turn the pool chemically with chlorine and water circulation. The method you choose is dependent on other factors like whether the pool requires repairs to the interior, how old the water is and if you need to replace the pool water anyway.

We completed this job recently and because the pool's water was in pretty good shape, we turned the pool chemically instead of draining it.

This pool is so green you could barely see the steps!

Extreme Pool Cleaning in Chandler, Arizona

Here's a very nice pool that was in need of some Extreme TLC.

The cure for cancer might just be in here breeding with a trillion different bacteria and algae strains. Should we preserve samples for science.... Nah! We'll pump it instead, clean everything with chlorine and kill what we don't understand!

Starting to pump.

Brad Filgas of Maple Leaf Pool Service is in the middle of pressure washing the interior here. Brad and I collaborated on this job to speed up completion time to about three hours.

More washing.... more cleaning....more chlorine...

One day later!

My only regret on this job was that our client didn't have the budget for us to remove the calcium from the waterline and tile.
